MEET OUR HORSES!

This page has images of our wonderful horses, and links to more pictures, poetry and more!

Do you take lessons? Been to a day camp or birthday party? Do you miss the horses when you are not at the barn?

Then this is the page for you! Scroll down, and click on the image of a horse. That will take you to that horse's page of pics! Your favorite Progressive Riding horse is here, waiting for you!

Tyler:

I doubt that there is a student in the barn, or a guest for an event who has not met Tyler. Tyler is the "grandpa" of the barn. He is at least 19 years old, but a wonderful (and large) quarterhorse.

Tyler is a "bay," which means he is almost all brown on his body, with black "socks," tail and mane.

Saffron:

Saffy came to us via Canada. She used to compete in Dressage and Hunter Jumper competition. She is an amazing horse - she can challenge our most advanced riders, and can also walk our newests riders around the arena.

Saffron is a Dutch Warmblood. She is black, with small splotches of white. In the middle of summer, you will see a dark chocolate brown in her fur.

Romeo:

If there is a second to Tyler, it is Romeo. He is a gentle and lovely Morgan, Chesnut brown with delightfully hairy fetlocks.

Romeo used to be a sherrif's horse, down in Snohomish County. He now patrols the arena at Progressive Riding Academy, and the fields and trails we take him on. A favorite of students and campers alike, Romeo is a great horse in our barn.

Zebra:

You will not ride Zebra for your fist lesson on horseback. He is a horse that requires a little bit of skill before you ride him. But after a few lessons, he is a wonderful ride.

Zebra is a gorgeous paint, with a playful personality. He shows, and he goes...and he has the smoothest trot in the barn.

Prince:

Prince is our newest horse. He is a chestnut quarterhorse, as old as Tyler, and a wonderful addition to our stable. Prince has a slow, rolling lope that makes him a favorite among our riders.

Carmello:

"Carmy" is another quarterhorse, a stunning palamino with plenty of energy and a slightly silly personality. He will answer questions for you, especially if you are holding a treat! (The answer is always "yes!")

Kiva:

Kiva Marie is Hallie's special girl. She is not a lesson horse, but she is a beautiful tri-color paint.

Lola:

Lola is our only pony, a class A welsh pony. She is mostly retired, and a little shy. Lola is also our oldest horse.
